Location of Kotor

The Montenegrin city is located in the eastern part of the Bay of Kotor. Mountains between 1000 and 1700 metres in height surround it. Although the bay is actually a river flooded by the sea, it is one of the deepest inland bays in the Adriatic Sea. Sometimes we refer to Kotor as the southernmost fjord in Europe.

Can you rent a yacht in Kotor – do I need a license?

Small boats (under a certain horsepower or length), electric boats, crewed yacht charters and gulet charters may not require a license. Larger boats or those with more powerful engines need a skipper’s license. Before you confirm your sailing trip to Kotor, please send us a copy and we will check it for you. You need to have the original copies with you on-board, so don’t forget to take them.
To sail in Montenegro, one of the following qualifications is necessary: • ICC (International Certificate of Competence), International, with valid Navigational and VHF licenses Prerequisites: RYA “Day Skipper Course” or complete the ICC Assessment form to prove competence from previous experience.

Plavi Horizonti Beach

The golden sandy Plavi Horizonti beach is located near Tivat. It has a Certification and is especially ideal for families with small children. If you would like to avoid crowded places, this beach is a perfect choice because it is very quiet and peaceful.

A pleasant, moderate climate characterises the Montenegrin holiday resort. The summer is warm and dry, the winter is mild. In August, temperatures can reach up to 29.6°C. Maximum rainfall occurs in November. Due to the pleasant weather, we recommend visiting Kotor from April to October.
