Location of San Remo

San Remo is located in Italy in the district of Imperia. It is about 20 kilometres from the French border, lies directly on the Mediterranean coast. It is the capital of the Riviera dei Fiori, the Flower Riviera. The settlement was established in the Roman era and now has more than 50, 000 permanent residents. The Ligurian Alps make the area mountainous.

Can you rent a yacht in San Remo – do I need a license?

Small boats (under a certain horsepower or length), electric boats, crewed yacht charters and gulet charters may not require a license. Portosole San Remo

The port of San Remo consists of two parts, the old and the new terminal.Protocole is a modern stop with good infrastructure. If you anchor here, the adventure begins already on the pier! A shopping centre, restaurants, bars, and luxury hotel await you on the beach! There are ongoing programs at the harbour for arrivals. Luxury yachts, sailings, and other tourist boats are welcome up to 90 meters.

Port of Bordighera

Bordighera locates 10 km from the City of Flowers. There are 250 vessels up to 20 meters in its port. It’s a small, cosy town. Its curiosity is the Lungomare Argentina, which is a 2k long beach promenade. Thousands of Ligurians immigrated to Argentina in the 20th century. To their honour, Evita Peron handed over the promenade at the solemn opening.

Port of Arma di Taggia

This small town is located from the West of San Remo. Its port has limited access for the boats, from 8 am to 12 am and from 2 pm to 6 pm. On the pier, there can be 125 yachts up to 10 meters. The flower market of San Remo

The area is also famous for its flower production, so it is certainly the largest flower market in Europe. From the Mediterranean species to the rarest plants you can find everything here! Roses, pinks, tulips, palms, orchids, and thousands of colourful, fragrant wonders are on the almost 2 hectares of land!

San Remo Casino

The famous casino in San Remo is in an Art Nouveau style building. In addition to gambling, there is a theatre room in a beautiful palace.

Villa Nobel

The neo-Gothic-style villa belonged to the famous Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel. The inventor of the dynamite spent his last few years with continuous research. The villa is open to the guests with its original equipment. A comprehensive exhibition on the life of the Swedish chemist is also available.

Madonna Della Costa Sanctuary

From the old town of San Remo, you can reach the chapel on a path lined with cypresses and olive trees. This building is a symbol of the city, which is located high above the town, on a hill. The idea of the chapel was coming from a sailor who, in a miraculous way, escaped the pirates’ claws. It was erected in the 16th century, typically in Baroque style. From the square in front of the church, a wonderful panorama is unfolding.

Corso Imperatrice

The seaside promenade of the city commemorates Maria, the wife of Emperor Alexander II. The tsarina donated to the renovation of the Corso, so it was named after her as an honour. The San Basilio Russian Orthodox Church, the casino and luxury hotels border this beautiful street. There is an elegant spa right next to it on the beach.

Tre Ponti Beach

Tre Ponti Beach stretches along the Eastern part of the city. It is mostly sandy, sometimes with gravel. The beach is fully equipped. You can rent a sunbed, canoe, surfboard, or boat. There is also a volleyball court. On the beach restaurants and bars are serving the comfort of the bathers. The bike path is near; you can also come by bike!

Lido Imperatrice

The Lido Imperatrice is a fully equipped elegant seaside. It runs beside the Corso alongside the shore. It’s actually a 4-star beach. Showers, a Caribbean bar, a playground, and water fitness are at your disposal.

Serenella Beach

This is a smaller beach but really friendly! It is not overcrowded, the coast is sandy. The staff of the restaurants is extremely helpful. Especially recommended for families with young children!

Bagni San Remo Blue Bay

The beach has been in a family business for 3 generations. You can feel that they care about it. The seabed is sandy, so it is comfortable to have a bath. The sunset is wonderful from this bay. A playground, a volleyball court, showers and sun lounges minister to the guests’ comfort.

Terrazza Beach

This sandy, wide beach is close to the Southern pier. If you’re on holiday with a dog, it’s your place! Here, you can take your four-legged friends. Shower, restaurant, rest beds and maximum tolerance!

The Mediterranean climate is typical of the warm mild temperature zone. The average annual temperature is around 14 ° C.
