The weather of Brač: Mediterranean climate

This Central Dalmatian island has a Mediterranean climate. The average temperature in summer is 25 °C, and 9 °C in winter. There can be significant differences between coastal areas and places with an altitude above 500 metres. Ports of Milna

The town is popular among sailors. The three ports can accommodate more than 300 boats. The largest is the ACI Marina Milna with 170 berths, where boats up to 40 metres in length can drop anchor. The depth of the seabed is 6 metres. The port offers many quality services, and refuelling is also possible. Located on the northern side of Milna Bay, the Marina Vlaska offers 71 berths for boats up to 25 metres. The depth of the seabed is 15 metres.

Port of Sutivan (Brač)

Sutivan is located on the northern coast of the island of Brač, only 7 km from Supetar. Larger boats can anchor in front of the bay, smaller boats can berth in the port. The depth of the seabed at the entrance of the port is 6 metres, while along the quay it is 2-3 metres.

There is only a limited number of berths in the port. Supetar’s outer port is reserved for ferries and commercial vessels. In contrast, mostly smaller boats and yachts use the inner basin. Port of Pučišća (Brač)

This small port is located on the northeast coast of the island of Brač. It has 25 berths, of which about 8-10 are reserved for yachts. The depth of the seabed along the quas is 1, 2-2, 3 metres, and 3, 5-4, 3 metres in the middle of the port.

Port of Sumartin

Sumartin is a peaceful, idyllic place, even in the high season. It is the easternmost and youngest coastal town on the island of Brač. It is connected by a ferry to the port of Makarska. The depth of the seabed is 1-3, 7 metres. Sumartin sailing

Marina Bol (Brač)

The port of Bol is located on the southern coast of Brač Island, about halfway between Milna and Sumartin. It is small, so it can be hard to find a free berth during the main season. The depth of the water is 6–7 metres at the entrance and 2 metres at the pier. It provides drinking water, electricity and laundry, as well as cafés and restaurants. Port of Stomorska

The port is located in a small natural bay, providing protection for boats. Only the Bora winds can cause bigger waves here. The port has 30 berths, 4 of them for boats over 50 metres in length. Port of Rogač

It has a favourable location, only 16 kilometres from Split. The main advantage of the port is that it is not too crowded. There are showers, free WiFi, a nearby gas station, a café and a pizzeria. Port of Maslinica

The Marina Martinis Marchi is located on the west side of the island of Šolta. It is part of the Martinis Marchi Heritage Hotel Group. The port has 50 berths for yachts up to 35 metres in length. Larger megayachts can berth near the breakwater. The depth of the seabed is 2-11 metres. Every berth has drinking water and electricity, and there are WiFi and showers available. The restaurant and bar are open from May to October, but the port is open all year round. However, in July and August, yachts arriving late are often unable to find a berth. It is therefore advised to arrive early or reserve a berth.

Port of Split

The ACI Marina Split offers 348 berths for yachts of a maximum of 90 m. The breakwater provides outstanding protection from the raging sea and the southern winds. The water depth is 8 m. Port of Trogir

Port of Podstrana

The luxurious Marina Lav belongs to the Le Meridien Lav hotel complex. It can accommodate 74 yachts with a maximum length of 40 m. The depth varies between 2-2.8 m. Marina Kaštel Gomilica

This is the only port in Croatia that can accommodate superyachts up to 140 m. Refuelling is among the quality services of the port.
The recently built port is in the southwestern part of Kaštela Bay. It has 420 sea berths, and 200 land berths, all offering water and electricity. The depth of the seabed is between 2, 5 m and 8 m. There is a reception desk, a self-service laundry, a yacht club and a refuelling station. As for restaurants, you can choose BavAdria café, Nautic restaurant or Spinnaker restaurant. Port of Omiš

Marina Baška Voda

Marina Ramova

The Marina Ramova is located in Krvavica, a town that administratively belongs to Baška Voda. It has 195 berths for boats up to 16 metres in length. The depth of the seabed is 3 metres. The port offers many excellent services. The restaurant can accommodate up to 150 guests at once.

Makarska Harbour

Marina Tučepi

Port of Hvar

The town of Hvar Island, which bears the same name, is the most popular docking place on the island. The port provides safety against northern winds; however, southern and northwestern winds can cause significant waves. Docking is expensive on the town’s pier, but you can do it on the other side of the port for a fair price. You can choose from several services including fuelling.

Marina Sveti Klement (Hvar)

ACI Marina Palmižana is located on the northeastern part of Saint Klement Island, which belongs to the Pakleni archipelago. This is one of the safest harbours on the Adriatic Sea. It offers 180 berths for ships as long as 30 metres. The depth of the water is 3–8 metres. It is open seasonally, from the 1st of April until the 31st of October. They provide showers, Wi-Fi, cafés, and if you are hungry you can also find restaurants and grocery stores.

The port of Brusje (Hvar)

The little port called Stiniva Marina can accommodate up to 8 boats. The depth of the water is 2–4.5 metres. There is also a small restaurant in the bay.

The port of Vrboska (Hvar)

ACI Marina Vrboska is famous for its beautiful surroundings. Beautiful lavender fields, ancient olive trees and vineyards can be found nearby. It can accept a total of 119 boats with a length of up to 20 metres. The depth of the water is 5 metres. The port offers several good-quality services including a fuel station.

Port of Jelsa (Hvar)

The port has 54 berths for ships up to 40 metres. The depth of the water is 2.70–4 metres at the northern and 1.50–3.70 metres at the southern shores. They offer water, electricity and shower cabins.

Marina Stari Grad (Hvar)

The port of Sućuraj (Hvar)

Sućurajis a small port and tourist establishment. It is located in Sućuraj Bay, in the eastern part of Hvar Island. It offers 9 berths for yachts, which are located to the west from the ferry port. The depth of the water is 2-3 metres.

Port of Sveta Nedjelja

Marina Zlatan Otok is a small port run by a family. It is located in a small village called Sveta Nedjelja on the southern shore of Hvar Island, app. 12 kilometres from Hvar city. The port can accept ships up to 18 metres long – the depth of the water is 4 metres. Ships up to 40 metres long can also dock on the outer side of the mole; the depth of the water is 7 metres here. The port opens in May or June and closes in October. It is also unique because it is exposed to the Mistral, causing waves.

The little port of Zavala is located on the southern shore of Hvar Island, near Šćedro Island. Smaller yachts can dock at the mole, while larger ones can dock at the bay. The depth of the water is 6–16 metres at the bay, and 2–3 metres at the mole.

Marina Vis

This marina can accommodate 70 boats up to 20 metres in length. The Bora and Jugo winds can make berthing difficult, thus when they are blowing stronger, it is better anchoring at the quay at the nearby town of Kut. Day 1. Supetar (Brač-island) – Sutivan (Brač-island)

The coastal resort is located opposite Split, in the northwestern corner of Brač Island. If you are looking for outdoor activity, you can choose from several cycling and hiking routes in Sutivan National Park. One of the must-see sights in town is the Renaissance Church of the Holy Salvation from the 16th century. We can admire Marijanović House at the eastern end of the port; it was built-in the 17th century.

Day 2. Sutivan (Brač-island) – Podstrana (Marina Lav)

One of the most famous sites of the town is the new parish church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For hiking, definitely look for a trail on Perun Hill. Day 3. Podstrana (Marina Lav) – Omiš

A part of Omiš whose lies in the canyon of the Cetina river, one of the most fabulous Croatian towns. It is proud of its pleasant old town and sandy beaches offering numerous opportunities for excursions. Furthermore, it has a rich culture, i.e. the famous Festival of Dalmatian Choirs is held here annually. Another popular event is the Omiš Summer Festival with exciting concerts. In addition, the town’s best restaurant called Bastion can be found on the main road. Its specialities are the fish dishes, seafood although delicious pizza and meat dishes are also served.

Our next destination is Baška Voda. The main attractions are the Church of St. Nicholas and the Church of St. Lawrence. Day 6. Makarska – Povlja (Brač-island)

We recommend discovering this tiny village for families who like a peaceful holiday. The most famous attraction of Povlja is the remains of the early Christian basilica next to the Church of St. John. The beautiful bays in the area are perfect for swimming.

Day 7. Povlja (Brač-island) – Pučišća (Brač-island) – Supetar (Brač-island)

Pučišća has great quarries – this is where the famous white limestone of Brač Island originates An important sight here is the St Jerome Church, built between 1566 and 1750. Interestingly, many of the houses have a stone roof, and you can also explore beautifully carved lampposts here.

After handing over your yacht you can take a stroll in Supetar. The main attraction of Supetar is the St. Peter”s Basilica, built-in 1773. The Church of the Annunciation, Leroy bell tower, the Church Museum, the statue of St. Victor and Roman mosaics are also worth visiting.
