Weather of Šolta

Summers are extremely hot and mostly dry, with no rain. In July, the average temperature can reach up to 30 °C. January is the coolest month, with temperatures down to 10 °C. The coastline west of Rogač is most exposed to the dry Bora, one of the defining winds of the Adriatic. In summer it is weaker, usually lasting for a day or two. In winter it is much stronger, blowing for several days. The Sirocco winds dominate the southern, uninhabited coastline of Šolta. Port of Rogač

It has a favourable location, only 16 kilometres from Split. The main advantage of the port is that it is not too crowded. There are showers, free WiFi, a nearby gas station, a café and a pizzeria. Port of Stomorska

The port is located in a small natural bay, providing protection for boats. Only the Bora winds can cause bigger waves here. The port has 30 berths, 4 of them for boats over 50 metres in length. Port of Maslinica

The Marina Martinis Marchi is located on the west side of the island of Šolta. It is part of the Martinis Marchi Heritage Hotel Group. The port has 50 berths for yachts up to 35 metres in length. Larger megayachts can berth near the breakwater. The depth of the seabed is 2-11 metres. Every berth has drinking water and electricity, and there are WiFi and showers available. The restaurant and bar are open from May to October, but the port is open all year round. However, in July and August, yachts arriving late are often unable to find a berth. It is therefore advised to arrive early or reserve a berth.

Port of Split

The ACI Marina Split offers 348 berths for yachts of a maximum of 90 m. The breakwater provides outstanding protection from the raging sea and the southern winds. The water depth is 8 m. Port of Marina

The Agana Marina can accommodate 134 boats with a length of up to 25 metres. The depth of water at the entrance is 7 metres. Every mooring has running water and electricity. Port of Trogir

Port of Supetar (Brač

There is only a limited number of berths in the port. Supetar’s outer port is reserved for ferries and commercial vessels. In contrast, mostly smaller boats and yachts use the inner basin. Port of Podstrana

The luxurious Marina Lav belongs to the Le Meridien Lav hotel complex. It can accommodate 74 yachts with a maximum length of 40 m. The depth varies between 2-2.8 m. Marina Kaštel Gomilica

This is the only port in Croatia that can accommodate superyachts up to 140 m. Refuelling is among the quality services of the port.
The recently built port is in the southwestern part of Kaštela Bay. It has 420 sea berths, and 200 land berths, all offering water and electricity. The depth of the seabed is between 2, 5 m and 8 m. There is a reception desk, a self-service laundry, a yacht club and a refuelling station. As for restaurants, you can choose BavAdria café, Nautic restaurant or Spinnaker restaurant. Port of Omiš

Day 1. Rogač – Stomorska

The main attraction of the village is the Church of St. Nickolas, built-in 1870. The resort town has a long tradition of fishing, even today. You can buy fresh fish at the beach, and many houses sell homemade honey, olive oil and wine. If you are craving a delicious pizza, the Pizzeria Volat is a perfect choice. Day 2. Stomorska – Sutivan

The coastal resort is located opposite Split, in the northwestern corner of Brač Island. If you are looking for outdoor activity, you can choose from several cycling and hiking routes in Sutivan National Park. One of the must-see sights in town is the Renaissance Church of the Holy Salvation from the 16th century. We can admire Marijanović House at the eastern end of the port; it was built-in the 17th century.

Day 3. Sutivan – Pučišća

Pučišća has great quarries – this is where the famous white limestone of Brač Island originates An important sight here is the St Jerome Church, built between 1566 and 1750. Interestingly, many of the houses have a stone roof, and you can also explore beautifully carved lampposts here.

Day 4. Pučišća – Povlja

We recommend discovering this tiny village for families who like a peaceful holiday. The most famous attraction of Povlja is the remains of the early Christian basilica next to the Church of St. John. The beautiful bays in the area are perfect for swimming.

Day 5. Povlja – Omiš

Omiš lies in the canyon of the Cetina river, one of the most fabulous Croatian towns. It is proud of its pleasant old town and sandy beaches offering numerous opportunities for excursions. Furthermore, it has a rich culture, i.e. the famous Festival of Dalmatian Choirs is held here annually. Another popular event is the Omiš Summer Festival with exciting concerts. Day 6. Omiš – Podstrana

One of the most famous sites of the town is the new parish church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For hiking, definitely look for a trail on Perun Hill. Day 7. Podstrana – Stobreč – Rogač

The small town lies on the East from Split on the peninsula. For mountaineers, the Perun Hill or the Moson Mountain are recommended. The ruins of the huge early-Christian basilica named after Saint Lawrence, the town’s patron saint, was erected at the centre of Stobreč. After we have returned our boat and we still have some time, it is worth taking a look around Rogač. The most beautiful monument of the village deep in Banja bay is the Villa Rustica, built-in the 3rd century. The bays to the north and south of town are perfect for swimming. The most famous landmark of Rogač is the Church of St. Teresa of Ávila from the 19th century. The most valuable object in the church is the altarpiece of the saint.

Day 1. Stomorska – Maslinica

The town lies on the western coast of Šolta. The most famous landmark is the Martinis Marchi castle, built to defend the island from pirate attacks. Nowadays, it houses an upscale hotel and a restaurant. If you are craving culinary experiences, we recommend the nearby Sampjer.

Day 2. Maslinica – Drvenik Veli-island

The island boasts many sandy and pebble beaches. If you are visiting, you must see the parish church dedicated to St. George, with the Baroque interiors and the altar painting of a Venetian painter, Antonio Grapinelli. Day 5. Trogir – Split (ACI Marina)

15.47 km (9.62 mi)

Split which is one of the busiest and most Mediterranean Croatian city. The 178-metre Marjan hill can be found on North-West; as a matter of fact, there is a magnificent panorama from its lookout tower. Furthermore, one of the most significant sights of Dalmatia is the Roman UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Diocletian’s Palace made from white marble. There are also several beautiful buildings on the main square of Split. Day 6. Split (ACI Marina) – Supetar

Supetar, the most visited capital city of Brač, lies on the North of the Brač island. Its name derives from the Saint Peter Basilica situated on a hill. As a matter of fact, he is the town’s patron saint. Regarding its beaches, Vela Luka is the most beloved by families with small children thanks to its crystal-clear water. Day 7. Supetar – Ložišća – Stomorska

You can find the remains of Rat on a hill above Ložišća. It is one of the best-preserved fortified villages in Central Dalmatia. The Parish Church of St. John and Paul stands in the town centre. It was built-in 1820. The Nazor family’s mansion is a valuable piece of 19th-century Dalmatian aristocratic architecture, so make sure to visit the building.

After returning our boat we still have some time, we should take a look around Stomorska. The seaside town of Šolta Island lies in a gorgeous bay, directly opposite Split. Its most famous landmark is the Church of St. Nicholas from 1870, but the old fisherman’s cottages are also very interesting. The Konoba Škoj restaurant offers excellent Mediterranean dishes. We recommend trying the fish, pasta and seafood dishes.
